Subaru
RHS Hampton Court

The brief

Subaru UK wanted to create a meaningful presence at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, the world’s largest annual flower show and a prestigious platform for design, innovation, and sustainability. The objective was to go beyond a traditional automotive display by showcasing Subaru’s values in a way that felt authentic to the setting. The brand sought to highlight its commitment to safety, wellbeing, and harmony with the natural world, while also connecting with audiences on an emotional level through a thought-provoking, purpose-led activation.

Our approach

We supported Subaru in bringing the Subaru Cocoon Garden to life - a feature garden designed by Mike McMahon and Jewlsy Mathews. The concept drew inspiration from Britain and Ireland’s temperate rainforest, a unique ecosystem that now covers just 1% of the land. The garden served as both a sanctuary and a reminder of the importance of regeneration, echoing Subaru’s dedication to giving back to the environments we depend on. To extend this narrative into a striking brand experience, we installed bespoke mirrored plinths that created the illusion of a Subaru vehicle floating on a lush bed of ferns. This visual effect blended engineering precision with organic beauty, capturing attention and sparking conversation among visitors. Together, the garden and display formed a cohesive storytelling space that celebrated design, sustainability, and purpose. The result was an activation that stood out within the festival environment: immersive, visually impactful, and perfectly aligned with Subaru’s brand values. It left a lasting impression on audiences by demonstrating how automotive innovation and natural inspiration can co-exist in harmony.
